Queremos invitarles que participan en el Censo 2010.  Cada 10 años, nosotros contamos cuantas personas están viviendo en el país.  Esta información, ayuda a distribuir fondos federales a los estados y ciudades donde hay más personas.  En marzo de este año, cada casa, casa apartamento, caca móvil home en todo el país va a recibir un formulario.  Su participación es muy importante.  Hay dos maneras que pueden participar.  Lo más fácil sería si usted llenaría el formulario y lo devolvería por correo.  Si no devuelvan el formulario, alguien que trabaja para el Censo va a venir a su casa para hacer las preguntas del formulario.  Queremos darles 3 razones por lo cuales deben de participar.

1.        El Censo 2010 es fácil.  Solo hay 10 preguntas básicas.  Lo más importante es que contamos cuantas personas están viviendo en su casa.  También preguntan si usted es dueño de la casa y se alquila la casa, su nombre, edad, y fecha de nacimiento, origen hispano, y raza.

2.        El Censo 2010 es seguro.  La información es completamente confidencial.  No se comparte con otras agencias del gobierno. No hay ninguna pregunta sobre su estatus legal – no importa si la persona es ciudadano, residente, acaba de llegar hace poco o está viviendo aquí temporalmente.

3.        El Censo 2010 es importante.  Sabemos que ahora en el año 2010 hay muchas personas nuevas en la comunidad hispana en Delaware que no estaban aquí hace 10 años.  La información del censo ayuda a determinar cómo el gobierno va a distribuir millones de dólares en fondos federales cada año para los próximos 10 años para servicios como: Escuelas, Hospitales, Servicios Sociales, Nuevos Negocios, y Carreteras.  Si no dejamos contar, todos las personas que están viviendo en nuestro pueblo, en nuestro condado, en nuestro estado de Delaware, no vamos a tener el dinero del gobierno federal para construir nuevos escuelas, para empezar nuevos negocios que puede generar mas trabajos, para contratar mas maestros, enfermeras, bomberos, y policía.

Les agradecemos su colaboración y su participación.   Cuando recibe su formulario, si tienen preguntas o necesitan ayuda en llenarlo hay centros de ayuda.  Pueden ir a su iglesia, a la escuela de sus niños, a la biblioteca de su pueblo, o a un centro comunitario como el Latin American Community Center, La Esperanza o La Casita.  Recuerden que solamente son 10 preguntas, tomara 10 minutos, y afectara los próximos diez años de tu vida!

Your participation is important.

We would like to invite you to participate in Census 2010. 

We would like to invite you to participate in Census 2010.  Every 10 years, we count how many people are living in this country.  This information helps to distribute federal funds to the states and cities where there are more people.  In March of this year, every house, every apartment, every mobile home in the entire country will receive a Census form.  Your participation is important.  There are 2 ways you can participate.  The easiest way is to fill out the form and mail it back.  If you do not mail the form back, someone who works with the Census will come to your house to ask you the same questions that are on the form.  We would like to give you 3 reasons why you should participate.

1.     Census 2010 is easy.  There are only 10 basic questions.  The most important part of the Census is that we count how many people are living in each house.  Also, they ask if you own or rent your house, your name, your age, your date of birth, and your race and ethnicity.

2.     Census 2010 is confidential.  The information on the form is completely confidential.  The Census information is not shared with other government agencies.  There is no question about a person’s legal status – it does not matter if the person is a citizen, a resident, or a person who arrived recently and is living in the country temporarily.

3.     Census 2010 is important.  We know that now in 2010 there are many new people in the Hispanic community in Delaware who were not living here 10 years ago.  The information collected by the Census is used to distribute millions of dollars in federal funds every year for the next 10 years for services such as: schools, hospitals, social services, new businesses and highways.  If we are not counted, then all of the people who are living in our town, our county, our state of Delaware will not have enough federal money to build new schools, to start new businesses which can create more jobs, and to hire more teachers, nurses, firefighters, and police officers.

We appreciate your collaboration and participation.  When you receive your Census form, if you have any questions or if you need help to complete the form, there are Questionnaire Assistance Centers.  You can go to your church, your children’s school, your town library or to a community center such as the Latin American Community Center, La Esperanza, or La Casita.  Please remember the Census is only 10 questions, takes 10 minutes, and will affect the next 10 years of your life!
