PIC ofrece Audio conferencias en Español

El Centro de Información para Padres (PIC) invita a la comunidad a escuchar las audioconferencias sobre temas relacionados a la educación de los hijos y la importancia de la participación de los padres en la escuela.  

Todos los padres quieren  que sus hijos   vayan a la escuela a aprender, que obtengan los servicios que necesitan y que sean éxitosos ahora y en el futuro.  La familia, la escuela y la comunidad juegan un papel determinante en el futuro de los niños. Los padres que participan en la educación de sus hijos y que estan bien informados tomarán mejores decisiones y ayudarán  a que los niños obtengan mejores resutados académicos y sociales. El Centro de Información para Padres (PIC) ofrecerá mensulamente audioconferencias en español.  Lo único que usted necesita para tener acceso a la audiocoferencia es registrarse y tener un teléfono disponible, la llamada es gratis. Desde la comodidad de su hogar ó su lugar de trabajo usted podrá escuchar a expertos en el área de educación y temas relacionado qienes estarán compartiendo con la audiencia sus conocimientos, consejos y contestando preguntas. Lunes 13 de Julio de 6:00 a 7:00 pm:

Como Utilizar los Recursos de las Bibliotecas para Mejorar el Nivel de Lectura de su Hijo.

Una bibliotecaria informará a los padres sobre una variedad de actividades y recursos  que mejoran la lectura de los niños especialmente durante el verano, y que son ofrecidas gratuitamente por las bibliotecas públicas.

Jueves 27 de Agosto de 6:00 a 7:00 pm:

Como Usted Puede Preparar a su Hijo para un Año Escolar Exitoso.

Por medio de ésta audio-conferencia, un profesor dará consejos a los padres para que preparen a sus hijos para un año escolar exitoso desde el comienzo. 

Lunes 21 de Septiembre de 6:00 a 7:00pm:

La Salud Mental y Los Niños Hispanos: Lo Que los Padres Necesitan Saber.

Una consejera familiar les hablará a los padres sobre la importancia de conocer más sobre los problemas de la salud mental, como pueden afectar la educación de los niños y la importancia de recibir tratamiento.

PIC offers Audio conferences in Spanish

PIC Parent Information Center invites the community to participate in audioconferences about children’s education and the importance of parental  involvement. 

All parents want their children to learn at school, get the services that they need and that are sucessful now and in the future. Families, schools and community have a very important role and are factors that will determine children’s future. Parents who participate in their children’s education and are well informed can make better decitions and help their children. Parent Information Center (PIC) will offer monthly audio conferences in Spanish, all you will need is to register and have acces to a telephone. The call is free of charge. From home or work you will have the opportunity to listen to experts in the education field and related services who will share their knowledge, advice and answer your questions. The topics of the first three audioconferences are:

Monday July 13 6:00-7:00 pm

“How to use Public libraries Resources to Improve Your Child’s Reading Skills”

This audio conference will provide information to parents about the variety of activities offered by the public libraries and how to access materials from their local library, especially during the summer.

Thursday August 27 6:00-7:00 pm

“How You Can Prepare Your Child for a Successful School Year”

This audio conference will give parents important information and ideas they can use in getting themselves and their children ready for the start of a successful school year.

Monday September 21 6:00-7:00 pm

Mental Health and Hispanic Children: What Parents Need to Know.

In this audio-conference, parents will have a better understanding of the importance and benefits of professional treatment for mental health issues.
