Homicidio en 300 Blk. N. Scott Street

Anoche lunes 25 de enero 2010 siendo aproximadamente las 10:09 pm en un patrullaje de rutina de la policía de Wilmington en el área de las calles 2 y Dupont cuando dos oficiales se detuvieron por una víctima de disparos.

La víctima, un joven de 16 años sufría de varias heridas de bala en su mano, brazo y torso. Señaló a un hombre que caminaba por la calle como uno de los hombres que le acababan de disparar. Los oficiales intentaron detener al hombre, quien salió corriendo en cuanto fue señalado. Luego de una breve persecución a pie, el sujeto fue aprehendido sin incidentes. Además, los oficiales recuperaron una pistola 9mm cargada que el sujeto arrojó mientras corría. Al terminar la persecución, la radio policial notificó a los oficiales en la escena que había otra víctima de disparos en el bloque 300 de la calle N. Scott. Al llegar a esa dirección los policías ubicaron a un hombre de 18 años sufriendo de múltiples heridas de bala en su pecho. La victima también fue identificada como el hermano de la primera víctima. Fue transportado al Hospital de Cristiana donde fue pronunciado muerto poco después de su llegada.

La investigación preliminar revelo que las victimas acababan de salir de su casa en el bloque 200 de la calle N. Scott cuando se les acercaron tres hombres. Uno de ellos abrió fuego contra las víctimas, dándole a ambos. El joven de 16 años pudo salir corriendo de la escena de los disparos, mientras que su hermano de 18 años colapsó en el bloque 300 de la calle N. Scott. El joven de 16 años fue trasladado a Christiana donde se encuentra en buenas condiciones.

La víctima del homicidio ha sido identificada como Marco Cruz de Wilmington.

El sujeto capturado ha sido identificado como Aking Deleon de 17 años a quien le han presentado cargos de asesinato en primer grado, intento de asesinato en primer grado, posesión de ramas de fuegos durante la comisión de un delito, posesión de armas de fuego por personas prohibidas y transportar un arma mortal oculta. Ha sido transportado al centro de detención de New Castle. También se busca por los mismos cargos a Carlos Torres de 20 años con residencia en la calle N. Jessup en Wilmington. No ha sido capturado al escribir este reporte.

Homicide, 300 Blk. N. Scott Street

Last night, Monday January 25, 2010 at approximately 10:09 pm, Wilmington Police were on routine patrol in the area of 2nd & DuPont Streets when two officers were flagged down by a gunshot victim

The victim a 16 year old Wilmington teen was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his hand, arm and torso. He pointed to a man walking in the street as one of the men who had just shot him. The officers attempted to stop the man, who ran as soon as he was pointed out. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended without incident. Additionally, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun that the suspect threw as he was running. After the foot pursuit ended, dispatchers notified the officers on the scene that there was another gunshot victim in the 300 Blk. of N. Scott Street. Upon arrival on Scott Street, officers located an 18 year old Wilmington man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. This victim was also identified as the brother of the first victim. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the two victims had just left their home and were walking in the 200 Blk. of N. Scott Street when they were approached by 3 men. One of these men opened fire on the victims, striking both. The 16 year old was able to run from the scene, while his 18 year old brother collapsed in the 300 Blk. of Scott Street. The 16 year old was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was listed in good condition.

The homicide victim has been identified as 18 year old Marco Cruz of Wilmington.

The apprehended suspect has been identified as 17 year old Aking Deleon, who has been charged with Murder 1st degree, Attempted murder 1st degree, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Possession of a firearm by persons prohibited and Carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He has been transported to the New Castle County Detention Center.

Also wanted for the same charges is 20 year old Carlos Torres of N. Jessup Street in Wilmington. He has not been apprehended as of this writing.

The investigation is continuing.
