Disfruta de la nueva Serie de Jazz del Museo de Arte de Delaware presentada por Raye Jones Avery. Dayramir González Vicet es un pianista, compositor, arreglista y productor cubano. Dayramir creció en Cerro, un humilde barrio de La Habana, durante un momento económico muy difícil en la historia de Cuba. Esta falta de estabilidad financiera no detuvo el crecimiento y la promoción de la educación musical en la isla. Su padre, Fabián González, es un conocido y exitoso trompetista de jazz afrocubano. González se sintió atraído por el piano desde temprana edad, y su talento era evidente para muchos.
En 2004, formó su propio proyecto, Dayramir & Habana enTRANCé, que ha actuado internacionalmente desde su inicio. Mientras aún asistía al Berklee College of Music, en 2012, fue seleccionado por Chucho Valdés, mentor de González, para formar parte de la serie Voices of Latin America de Carnegie Hall, donde representó, junto con Aldo López-Gavilán, a la joven generación de pianistas de jazz afrocubano. Según su sitio web, actualmente vive en el South Bronx.
El artista de Yamaha, Dayramir González, comenzó su carrera profesional como pianista y compositor con el ensemble de jazz afrocubano Diákara del exmiembro de Irakere, Oscar Valdés, a los 16 años. La culminación de su viaje como un joven nativo de La Habana que continúa y lleva el legado de la música afrocubana a Nueva York se sintetiza en su último álbum “The Grand Concourse”, un nombre inspirado en la avenida que atraviesa el Bronx y un concepto que refleja la dinámica inusualmente amplia de las piezas, desde el pulsante motivo de bajo de África Occidental en Situaciones en 12/8 hasta la interpretación contemporánea de la tradición cubana clásica de finales del siglo XIX y la evocadora balada de jazz orquestal “Blood Brothers”. Dayramir está dejando su huella como destacado compositor internacional, orquestador, líder de banda y pianista. Dayramir González se presentará en el Museo de Arte de Delaware el 5 de octubre de 2023, de 7:00 pm a 9:00 pm.

Enjoy the Delaware Art Museum’s new Jazz Series hosted by Raye Jones Avery. Playing on the Museum’s Steinway Grand Piano, performances consist of a guest artists’ favorite works and stories from their lives. Each 1.5-hour performance includes an artist chat led by Raye Jones Avery.
Dayramir González Vicet is a Cuban pianist, composer, arranger, and producer. Dayramir grew up in Cerro, a humble Havana neighborhood, during a very tough economic time in Cuba history. This lack of financial stability did not stop the growth and promotion of music education on the island. His father, Fabian Gonzalez, is a well-known and successful Afro-Cuban jazz trumpeter. Gonzalez was attracted to the piano early and his talent was evident to many.
In 2004 he formed his own project Dayramir & Habana enTRANCé, which has performed internationally since its inception. While still attending Berklee College of Music, in 2012, he was selected by Chucho Valdés, a mentor to González, to be part of Carnegie Hall’s Voices of Latin America series, where he represented, along with Aldo López-Gavilán the young generation of Afro-Cuban jazz pianists.[3] According to his website, he now lives in the South Bronx.

The culmination of his journey as a young Havana-native who continues and brings the Afro-Cuban music legacy to New York is synthesized in his latest album “The Grand Concourse,” a name inspired by the thoroughfare that runs through the Bronx and a concept that reflects the uncommonly dynamic range of pieces from the pulsating West African bass motif found in Situaciones en 12/8 to the contemporary take on the classical Cuban tradition of the late 19th century to the haunting orchestral jazz ballad of Blood Brothers. Dayramir is making his mark as a leading international composer, orchestrator, bandleader and pianist.
