Máximo César Castellanos will represent Delaware at the National Book Festival
Máximo César Castellanos, the sixteen-year-old bilingual author from Georgetown, is honored that his book, Dr. Pren and the Days of his Childhood, has been chosen by the Delaware Center for the Book to be included in the “Great Reads from Great Places” list for the 2025 National Book Festival of the Library of Congress.
The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress works with its 56 Affiliate Centers for the Book (the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and Northern Marianas) to fulfill the Center’s mission of promoting books, reading, libraries, and literacy nationwide.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the National Book Festival, which the Library of Congress will celebrate on Saturday, September 6, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Visitors are invited to stop by the Delaware exhibit table between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to meet Máximo César Castellanos. Come with your family to the event, get your copy of the book, and have it signed in person by the author. For more information, you can visit https://www.loc.gov/bookfest/
