Festival Cultural Nuestro Delaware 2025
Tuvo lugar el domingo 7 de diciembre en el campus del Instituto de Aprendizaje Permanente Osher de la Universidad de Delaware.

En nuestro primer año, Spotlight Delaware publicó una serie de historias tituladas “Nuestro Delaware”, que revelan la historia de las comunidades alrededor del Primer Estado y los lazos que nos unen. Como culminación de esa información, reunimos a esas comunidades (¡y más!) en nuestro primer festival navideño.
El Festival Cultural “Our Delaware” celebró a las personas que hemos conocido en el camino y la vibrante diversidad de Delaware con actuaciones culturales, un mercado navideño, actividades familiares y comida.
El Festival Cultural de Este año de Nuestro Delaware se celebra el 7 de diciembre, que es el Día de Delaware. ¿Fue intencionado?
Fue intencionado.
Delaware tiene esta pequeña y orgullosa historia aquí, pero el Día de Delaware es como un pequeño rincón olvidado en el calendario, y pensé: “¿Qué mejor manera de rendir homenaje a los fundadores de nuestro estado hasta donde estamos hoy y celebrar las vibrantes culturas que conforman el mosaico que es Delaware hoy?”
.El Día de Delaware, por supuesto, es el día en que Delaware ratificó la Constitución en 1787, convirtiéndose en el primer estado del país, y qué mejor momento para hacerlo que a principios de diciembre, cuando muchos grupos están callados en su calendario antes de las fiestas.
Our Delaware Cultural Festival 2025

In our first year, Spotlight Delaware published a series of stories called “Our Delaware,” revealing the history of communities around the First State and the ties that bind us together. As a culmination of that reporting, we brought together those communities (and more!) together in our first holiday festival.
The “Our Delaware” Cultural Festival celebrated the people we’ve met along the way and the vibrant diversity of Delaware with cultural performances, a holiday market, family-friendly activities, and food.
This year’s Our Delaware Cultural Festival takes place on Dec. 7, which is Delaware Day. Was that intentional?
It was intentional.
Delaware has this small, proud history here, but Delaware Day is kind of this forgotten little spot in the calendar, and I just thought, “What better way to kind of pay homage to the founders of our state all the way to where we are in the present day and celebrate the vibrant cultures that make up the patchwork that is Delaware today. “
Delaware Day, of course, is the day when Delaware ratified the Constitution in 1787, becoming the first state in the nation, and what better time to do it than in early December when many groups are quiet on their calendar ahead of the holidays.
